The problem wasn't the product. It was being found.
When you've spent 18 years in construction machinery, run a 150+ team in Guangzhou, and built supply partnerships with 100+ factories, you rarely lack quality or price advantage. What we lacked was a place buyers could find us on their own terms — without going through a third-party platform that owned the relationship.
That's why we launched construction-engines.com. Ninety days later, qualified monthly inquiries had grown from 10 to 60. Here's exactly how.
As a distributor and wholesaler of excavator and mining parts, we cover CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Kobelco, Kubota, Doosan, Cummins, Isuzu, Volvo and more — from engine assemblies and overhaul kits to cylinder blocks, crankshafts, turbochargers, hydraulic pumps and fuel injectors. The inventory was never the bottleneck.
The bottleneck was discoverability. Buyers searching "CAT C15 diesel engine" or "excavator hydraulic pump" landed on OEM dealer pages or marketplaces — rarely on us. Our independent site started with roughly 10 inquiries a month, and most of them were low-intent.
Phase 1 (Day 1–30) — Build the trust layer first. B2B buyers don't order $10K worth of parts from an anonymous page. We restructured the entire catalog the way buyers actually search: by brand and OEM part number (3304/3306/3406 rebuild kits, RHG7V turbochargers, 200-1117 injectors for C9, 319-0677 fuel pumps for C7, C15 540HP assemblies, QSM11, 6HK1...). Then we put proof on every key page — 2008 establishment, 18 years in the industry, 150+ employees, 100+ partner factories, CNAS/ISO/SGS/CE certifications, worldwide delivery — with WhatsApp, WeChat and email always one click away.
Phase 2 (Day 31–60) — Drive qualified traffic. We stopped chasing broad keywords and went niche: "excavator engine parts," "diesel engine rebuild kit," "hydraulic pump assembly" — each product page built around the exact model number buyers type into Google. Real photos and product videos from our workshop and warehouse replaced stock imagery, lifting dwell time and click-through. We cleaned up site speed and structure so Google could index the long tail fast.
Phase 3 (Day 61–90) — Convert and scale. Speed became our cheapest differentiator. Every inquiry got a reply within one business hour, with a stock check and a model-matched quote. We built WhatsApp follow-up cadences and quote templates by engine family, then reviewed every week: which keywords and pages actually produced inquiries. We cut the noise and doubled down on the winners.
| Metric | Before (Day 1) | After (Day 90) |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly inquiries | 10 | 60 (+500%) |
| Inquiry quality | Mostly low-intent | High-intent buyers from N. America, Middle East, Africa, Oceania |
| Repeat business | None | First repeat orders by month 3 |
